
Sirro has had a very colourful career from rugby league and gridiron, a police officer, a Lowes ad star to businessman for Krispy Kreme donuts and radio star.
Paul, or “Sirro” as he is popularly known, grew up in Ryde and played his junior rep football with the Balmain Tigers. Some years later, Sirro became the Balmain Tigers longest serving player in terms of first grade matches - 246 1st grade games.
Sirro represented City Origin on 7 occasions, New South Wales on 14 occasions and Australia on 49 occasions that encompassed 21 tests between 1986 and 1994. He has won the coveted Dally M Rookie of the Year Award and NSW Rugby League Writers Discovery of the Year in 1986. Recently voted into Balmain Tigers & Wests Tigers “Teams of the Century” and the NRL “Team of the Nineties” He had many other football achievements up until his retirement from the game in 1998, including a stint with French club US Villeneuve.
More recently he is part of the Number 1 rating 2GB’s Continuous Call Team and also holds the position of national fundraising coordinator for Krispy Kreme donuts. Paul has just completed a children’s book called “Leaper Lane, Rugby League Rookie” which is rocketing up the bestsellers list. Has recently coached the Holy Cross Rhino’s League team who finished Major & Minor Premiers and sits on the Wests Tigers Board as a Director.
